24 Hour Skilled Nursing Care - Registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and certified nursing assistants provide comprehensive, individualized nursing care 24 hours a day. We have physicians who make regular visits to patients and are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Subacute And Skilled Care - We meet the special needs of subacute and skilled level patients with physical, occupational, speech, and medical nutritional therapies, combined with 24-hour nursing care. Whether provided for several weeks or several months, our physician directed subacute and skilled health care services are designed to complement a hospital stay or, in many cases, be a substitute for hospitalization.

Traditional Care - NHC HealthCare, Scott provides consistent skilled nursing care to traditional care patients for support in their daily activities. Through our care, which can range from several months to a year, our patients are able to achieve and maintain the highest possible level of function.

Respite Care - Respite Care is a short-term care program designed to give family members a much-needed break from the demands of caring for the chronically or terminally ill at home. Whether it's for a weekend or a few weeks, we provide the patient with a comfortable, secure, medical and social environment.

Dementia Care - We offer a dedicated, special needs unit. Our approach is designed to reinforce strengths, offer support for daily challenges and recognize the essence of our patients' personalities. We offer a safe, serene and predictable life-style to ensure patients enjoy optimal health, emotional and spiritual well-being.

Rehabilitation Services - Our comprehensive, rehabilitation services round out our spectrum of care. These services, provided by licensed rehabilitation personnel, are available on either an inpatient or outpatient basis.

Pediatric Outpatient Clinic

Physical Therapy - We offer a wide variety of therapy services. Our highly trained therapy team is dedicated to maximizing independence for adults requiring inpatient and outpatient therapy. Physical therapy helps patients regain their strength and mobility, manage pain or adapt to a permanent disability.

Speech Therapy - Our Speech Therapists help patients overcome communication conditions such as aphasia, swallowing difficulties and voice disorders.

Occupational Therapy - NHC HealthCare, Scott's Occupational Therapists focus on helping patients regain a much independence as possible by using visual perception training, upper extremity strengthening and coordination, and self-care skills.

Respiratory Therapy

Medical Nutritional Therapy - Our Medical Nutritional Therapy promotes a better diet and a healthier lifestyle with personal counseling and nutrition guidance based upon our patients needs and preferences.

Podiatry Care - Quarterly podiatrist visits can be arranged through our Social Services department. Patients simply fill out a consent form obtained from the receptionist and return the completed form to the Social Services director.

Beauty/Barber Shop - Personal hair care services are provided by a licensed beautician. Hours and days may be subject to change and are posted in the center.

Laundry - We offer personal laundry care for our patients at a cost of $1.10 per day. We ask that all items be clearly marked with the patient's first and last name. Changes can be made as needed with Social Services.

Hospice Care - Hospice provides specialized care to our patients when their illnesses no longer respond to aggressive, cure-oriented treatments. We provide a special program of care that helps patients receive emotional and physical comfort. Hospice also provides education, support and counseling to the families and caregivers of patients.

Internet Access - We offer wireless internet service throughout our healthcare center. Specific logon information can be obtained from our receptionist.

Cable TV and Telephone Services - Access is available in each room. Each room has a 19" or larger cable tv. Telephone with private number is available in each room.

Volunteer Program - We are proud of the outstanding contributions of individuals who volunteer in our community focusing on the individual needs of the patients. Our "Golden Link Volunteers" are welcomed to use their special talents or simply come in a few hours a week to assist our recreation department.

Transportation Services - We provide scheduled transportation for local doctor appointments, various outings and events.

Monthly Group Outings and Community Involvement - Our recreation staff is active in coordinating several holiday and special events for patients and their families. Our medically able patients are encouraged to attend outings to local restaurants, Davy Crockett State Park, road trips, shops, and our annual visit to Lawrence County Fair.

Recreation Activities - We offer a variety of recreation activities for exercise and wellness, including various religious activities, movies, bingo, musical performances, special events and festive meals for all of our patients.
